Day 22 – The Danger of Judgment

Let's put colours into our post!heheee =D ok here's my sharing for today's topic!=P

I
judge. You judge. We ALL judge!

As I’m typing this out, I felt God telling me that we are all actually judging one another in some ways practically in almost all our conversation, if we were to think carefully. We can never run away from it! Because if we’re not saying it out loud, we are either judging in our mind or through our actions. Maybe even subconsciously we judge others. Maybe even during our slacking time, where we just stone away until we have nothing else better to do than to start judging others. We may be talking to someone while calculating a formula in our mind about how is that person like.

Basically, we just judge a lot. Honestly, i know that i do sometimes judge without thinking through. And there are times like what Ps Tom said when I dislike someone, whatever they do, good or bad will not be pleasing to me, but when I like someone whatever they do even bad, I will excuse their wrong.

“Never judge a book by its cover.“

I always heard of the phrase and I know what it means. But many times, although I knew all about it, I’m always struggling with this one thing.........to put this phrase into practice. To never judge a person by their looks, by their abilities, by what they’ve done wrong in the past, etc...

You know how sometimes people told you what they think about someone’s behaviour and all? You tend to think of that person the same way as what they’ve told you wouldn’t you? But when it’s not actually true, but yet you had heard the false bad point from others, you will sort of draw away a little bit from the person won’t you?

What I wanted to say is that by judging others, we are only creating relationship barriers between each other. We judged each other [Matt 7:1 – “Do not judge or you too will be judged”] and slowly, as we continue to do so, we find that we are distant from each other and we also find that we cannot really trust each other anymore.

It is really difficult to live a life that is full of judgment isn’t it? =)

But what if we think about it this way?

God did not judge us at all but He instead died for us to show us His perfect love that can overwrites His judgment for us. So what makes us think that we could judge others? If our God, who is ever so mighty, powerful, all-knowing and big do not judge us, what more say us in judging others?

Maybe we should go back to GOD and ask Him for His discernment [Psalm 119:125 – “I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes”] to be able to be aware that we are judging someone. And when we are conscious that we are judging someone maybe we should try saying silently to ourselves to REMIND us --> God does NOT judge me! =)

Happy reading!=)

LOVE!,
Steph =P
